The Lyceum of Greek Women of Patras, a branch of the Lyceum of Greek Women of Athens, maintains a dynamic presence in the cultural and sporting events of the Patras region, through the participation of its dance departments in performances and various cultural and top sporting events of our region and beyond. Having as a clear statutory purpose the preservation of living memory from the struggles of our nation and in particular the rebirth and preservation of Greek customs and traditions, comes with a comprehensive proposal to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the revolution of 1821. The proposal includes the creation An album with photos of traditional women's costumes which will be available free of charge to representatives of local government, the church, educational institutions, primary and secondary education, hotels in the area, beautiful municipalities, etc.

The presentation of the album will take place in the context of an event to be held at the Conference Center of the University of Patras (two days) dedicated to the role of the Greek woman during the Revolution of 1821, with speakers of recognized prestige and which will be displayed in showcases from various parts of Greece, which will be sewn from the beginning. Throughout the anniversary year, these costumes will adorn the entrances of the main buildings of our city as well as a wing of the Archaeological Museum of Patras.

Finally, a delegation of 20 people from the dance department of the Lyceum of Greek Women, in traditional costumes, will participate in the anniversary events of the city of Kalavrita.

The Lyceum of Greek Women of Patras was founded in 1913 as a branch of the Lyceum of Greek Women of Athens with the initial goal of educating the girls of the popular classes and later the rescue and dissemination of folk traditions. Maintains a dynamic presence in the cultural and sports events of the area through the participation of its dance departments in performances and various events in the area. Indicatively, we mention performances and concerts of the Roman Patras and Conference Center of the University of Patras with prestigious and renowned artists, such as the late DOMNA SAMIOU, THE TIME AIDONIDIS, PETROS GAITANOS He also participated in events in the rest of Greece such as DELFUS (world conference of MEDICINE) in ATHENS (hotel BRITAIN, OLYMPIC GAMES 2004, TV appearances on ERT) in KALAMATA (celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Greek in NAOUSA, in VERIA, in TRIPOLI, in PYRGOS etc. at the Naval Week, at various University Conferences, at the Pampeloponnesian Medical Conference, at the European Conference, at the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors, at the Pan-European Sailing Championship 2019, at the event PATRAS 2019 FERRARI DAYS "PASSIONE ROSSA" in various of our city, culminating in the remarkable performances it organizes at the Ancient Conservatory of Patras, the Pantheon Theater, the Apollo Theater and the Conference and Cultural Center of the University of Patras.

The object of this proposal is the implementation of actions by the Lyceum of Greek Women that are in full correlation with the anniversary events for the 200 years since 1821, given that the main part of its activities concerns the preservation of living historical memory by the National Polygenesis, directly and indirectly.

The proposed actions will move in two axes:

A) The first axis includes the promotion of our folk tradition through an exhibition - promotion of women's traditional costumes (8 pcs) that will come from an equal number of regions of Greece. These costumes will be made (sewn) from the beginning and will be complete, with emphasis on headbands, jewelry, feces, vests, necklaces, etc. They will be placed in dummies (dolls) and will be accompanied by a corresponding information sign of a frame - showcase. These costumes refer to the promotion of the role of Greek women in the Struggle for Freedom and will be presented to the general public:

i) As part of a two-day event that will be organized at the Conference Center of the University of Patras, during which there will be speeches, video screenings, traditional women's costumes and the presentation of an album, the creation of which we propose below. Speakers of renowned prestige from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the Archaeological Museum of Patras, the War Museum of Athens, the Lyceum of Greek Women of Athens and other organizations will be invited to this event.

ii) By placing the showcases with the traditional women's costumes on the one hand in a special wing of the Archaeological Museum of Patras throughout the events of 2021 (with the exception of the above conference), on the other hand at the entrance of some of the central buildings of prominent importance of our city such as the City Hall, the building of the Region of Western Greece - meeting room of the Regional Council, the entrance of the Patras Port Authority (PPA), etc. For the above there is a first consultation with the leaders of the local bodies who welcomed our proposal with great enthusiasm.

B) The second axis concerns the creation of an anniversary album which will include photographic material of the Lyceum of Greek Women from our tradition of 1821, with photographs of both the costumes and the events of the Lyceum of Greek Women from its foundation. This album will be reproduced in 400 copies which will be given as a gift to the representatives of the local government, namely the Metropolitan of Patras and Egialia, Mayor, Regional Governor, Rector of the University of Patras, Head of Primary and Secondary Education, Hotel Owners Association of Western Greece.
