The Byronic Society of the Holy City of Messolonghi, founded in 1991, has developed a variety of actions, both inside and outside Greece, organizing conferences, seminars and lectures on the historical and cultural heritage of Messolonghi and Greece. At the same time, he has created the only "International Center for Research and Study on Lord Byron and Philhellenism" in Greece, having formed a rich historical and literary library, with works by Lord Byron, works on Romanticism and the Philhellenic movement, as well as others contemporary poets and writers.

As part of the Educational programs for the 200th anniversary of the start of the Greek Revolution of 1821, the National Historical Museum in collaboration with the Byronic Society and the assistance of the Region of Western Greece, presented the exhibition "RECONSTITUTION '21: MESSOLOGGI" , which he hosted (and will host until December 31, 2022) at the Museum for Lord Byron and Philhellenism.

In this anniversary exhibition, a historical review of the Revolution of 21 is presented, delving into the landmark events that took place in Western Central Greece. At the same time, educational institutions that visit it are offered free participation in educational programs and guided tours of Historical-Archaeological sites, by philological professors and tour guides, members of the Byronic Society.

In an attempt to create an exhibition that is more experiential and accessible to students of all levels of education, the Museum utilized modern interactive technologies and digital media.

Educational programs:

• "Garden of Heroes: Discovering Messolonghi through its History".

• "Greek Revolution and European Philhellenism".

• "The Poet and Philhellenic Lord Byron & the modern Byronic Philhellenic movement".

• "Introduction to Greek traditional costumes: Sersigas, Tsolias, Amalia".

• "In the Aetolia of Myths and History accompanied by Lord Byron" in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Aetoloakarnania & Lefkada.

LOCATION: In the "Byronian building", where the Byronic Society of the Holy City of Messolonghi is housed.
