Aktio Fortress is about 2.5 km from the airport of the homonymous settlement. It is a coastal fort located on the Acarnanian coast, opposite the city of Preveza and has been designated as a historical monument. Its construction began by Ali Pasha of Ioannina, in the late 18th century and was completed in the early 19th century. It is a small and compact fortress with a total perimeter of about 175 meters, which has an unusual triangular shape, as well as a main entrance on its north side. This point of interest is Coastal and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
