Church of Agios Nikolaos of Platani
The Church of Agios Nikolaos is located in the settlement of Platani and is an excellent example of Middle Byzantine Greek architecture. The first written reference to the temple was made in 1699 in the Venetian census and the next reference was made in 1833 in the census of Otto. According to testimonies, the church has been burned three times and its original name was Pantanassa, without any explanation why it was later renamed. This is an important cultural and historical monument, in which a fresco of Agia Paraskevi has been unveiled. This point of interest is Plain and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
