Ethnikis Antistaseos Square is one of the central and most popular squares of Patras. According to the original urban plan, the square would function as a cereal market, but in the end it was planted with trees and became a public square. Its original name was Omonia Square but it was renamed Queen Olga Square. It was later renamed National Resistance Square in honor of the Greek Resistance during World War II, but remains known as Olga Square. Sights of the square are the marble monument in honor of the Resistance, the sculpture of the Nymph with the horn of Amalthea of ​​the 19th century and the statue of the Achaean politician, Andreas Michalakopoulos.
