The Castle of Patras dates back to the 6th century AD, during the reign of Justinian, and is located at the foot of Mount Panacheikos. It was built with building materials of the ancient Acropolis, which had been built on the spot but had nevertheless collapsed. The Castle has a long history, inextricably linked to the history of the city.
