The Frankish Monastery of Panagia Isova is located northwest of the village of Tripiti in Ileia, in the settlement of Lekani. It was founded around 1225 and is a building of the Cistercian monks, while in 1263 it was destroyed during the battle of Prinitsa, when it was set on fire by Turkish mercenaries. The monastery, although ruined, is maintained in excellent condition which reveals its impressive dimensions and makes it one of the most important Gothic ecclesiastical monuments in our country. The Church of the Virgin Mary had a total length of about 40 meters and had a gabled roof and pointed windows. To its north part the courtyard of the monastery was stretched, while to the east there was a two-story building, which probably housed the monks' dormitories. Today, the north wall and the western arch of the Temple are preserved, as well as a large stone bottle, which may have been used to collect water from neighboring springs. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
