The Castle of Theisoa or Agia Eleni is located in the village of Theisoa in the prefecture of Ileia. It was built in the 13th century by the Baron of Karytaina, with the aim of total control of the area, while in 1301 it was destroyed by Konstantinos Paleologos of the Despotate of Moria. It is a Frankish building at an altitude of 586 meters, on the ancient ruins of the citadel of ancient Theisoa, inside which was the church of Agia Eleni. Today, the ruins of a small temple, some columns and capitals of an ancient building are preserved, while the castle is in ruins and access to it is extremely difficult. This point of interest is Mountainous and Rural. Suitable season to visit: All-year-round. It is not accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket.
