The Holy Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary with the historic Clock on the bell tower is located in the central square of Kalavrita and is a landmark of the city and its martyr past. The temple, although arrogantly dominant, has been burned twice, by the Turks and the Germans. The second time, in parallel with the burning of the temple, the male population of the city was executed. The Holocaust of Kalavrita, as it went down in history, took place on "Black Monday" December 13, 1943 at 2:34 pm, as evidenced by the hands of the clock on the temple which have remained "stuck" since then. This point of interest is Mountainous and Urban. It is accessible all year round. It is accessible through public transport. It has no fee or ticket. Everyday: 07:00-21:00.
