Palio Chalkiopoulos is a mountain village in the Peripheral Unit of Aitoloakarnania. It is built at the southern foot of Mount Kalana at an altitude of 850 meters and is surrounded by a lush natural landscape. It is located west of the artificial lake of Kremasta and is about 49 km northeast of Amfilochia. At a distance of about 5.5 km northwest of the settlement is the natural cave of Agios Andreas the Hermit, while an important attraction is the picturesque stone chapel of Agios Athanasios.
