CONCERT WITH THE WORK: "HYMN IN FREEDOM", poetry: Dionysiou Solomou, music: Nikolaou Mantzarou- Halikiopoulou. The timeless work of the great composers Solomos-Mantzaros, whose beginning is the Greek National Anthem, consists of 158 verses, which refer to the coveted good of the Freedom of Greece and to the struggle of the enslaved Greeks of the period of the Greek Revolution of 1821. A shocking work, Hymn - a timeless legacy, for all generations of the Greek race. The work is a composition for Symphony Orchestra, Mixed and Children's Choirs, as adapted [1999] by the renowned and famous Greek Chief Musician, Alki Balta, commissioned by the then Kefalonia Choir Center.
The concert for this project took place, with the participation of: Symphony Orchestra and the ERT Choir, the Mixed and Children's Choir of our Organization [Conductor: Stavros Solomos- Aretousa Nikolopoulou] and two additional Mixed and one or two Children's Choirs under the direction of Chief Musician Alkis Baltas.
The work was presented at the Garden of Heroes in Messolonghi.
The cost of the National Symphony Orchestra and the ERT Choir was limited to the necessary expenses, travel, accommodation and meals of the ERT members, as the salaries of its members were covered by the institution itself.
