The Municipality of the Holy City of Messolonghi has one of the most important brandnames in culture and history in Greece and worldwide.
With the leading event of the insurmountable Exodus (Exit) of Messolonghi, the general attitude and offer of the city throughout the Greek Revolution, the philhellenes who came and fought on the side of the Greeks and the philhellenic movement that developed after the Exodus, a historical grid of events is created that led to Freedom and the strengthening of the power of Greece through the epic of Messolonghi.
The above are honored and celebrated every year with the Exodus Celebrations that culminate in the Palm Weekend with the majestic processions, the representation of the explosion of the Elder Christos Kapsalis, the speech of the Mayor and the Solemnity of the Representative of the Greek Government.
It is preceded by a network of cultural events that take place in Messolonghi, Athens, etc. where they are presented by historians, associations, institutions, etc. events of that time and the heroic reaction of the Messolonghi and others who fought on the side of the city for liberation.
Now the Municipality of the Holy City of Messolonghi wishes to go one step further for the internationalization of the Holidays and the quality upgrade of the Events. Also in the same context is the communication of the Holidays as until today there were no corresponding funds. For our Municipality, the event of Exodus is the best in the eight-year struggle of the Greeks and as such must be addressed by the State with its funding so that through it the city can be internationalized and develop other activities.
