- Municipality of Kalavryta: Celebration of the National Anniversary of March 25
As part of the anniversary events held in Kalavryta, on the occasion of the completion of 200 years since the liberation of the city from the Turkish yoke, the National Anniversary celebrations of March 25th took place in the historic Monastery of Agia Lavra.
The celebrations began in the catholicon of the Holy Monastery of Agia Lavra, a springboard for the Greek Revolution, where a solemn Divine Liturgy was celebrated, a trisage was held at the monument of fallen heroes and wreaths were laid and eulogy in the forecourt of the Holy Monastery. In the continuation of the events, the traditional representation of the Oath of the Fighters and the declaration of the Revolution was presented by the theater group of Kalavryta "Panos Michos" and in conclusion, there was a presentation of national traditional dances by the dance department of the Educational and Cultural Association of Skepas, as well as the annual awarding of the winners of the 44th "Sacrifice" Cycling Tour.
Access to the historic site requires a private vehicle as there is no public transport line. The visitor is invited to visit the site from the beginning of spring, with free entry.
