In Aetolia, among other places of viewing and listening, there are three very important theaters. The theaters are the result of the cultural and economic prosperity of the three main cities of Aetolia, Kalydon, Oiniades and Plevrona.

1st PART

08:30 – Departure from the port of Messolonghi to Aetoliko (Duration 15 ').

08:45 - We will visit the standard processing unit for fish roe production. There, Petros will introduce us to the secrets of the production of the lagoon’s gold, the famous gastronomic product, the fish roe of “Messolonghi – Aetolian” lagoon. (Duration 1 hour and 30 minutes).

10:15 - Departure for the Diocese of Mastros, which was the seat of Bishop Achelous in the 13th century while, today, it is considered a monument unique in the Balkans and we will be informed about its importance and significance. (Duration 45 ')

11:00 - We head to the Archaeological site of Oiniades. (Duration 15 ')

11:15 - Guided tour of the site, the ancient theater and the ancient shipyard. (Duration 2 hours)

13:15 - Departure for "Sotiriou" Winery. (Duration 30 minutes)

13:45 - Traditional gastronomic event with local products, local recipes and wines from "Sotiriou" estate. (Duration 1 hour 30 minutes).

15:15 - Departure for Messolonghi (Duration 1 hour).

16.15 - Free time in the city

2nd PART

Messolonghi Aetolian Lagoon

08:30 – We will meet at the hotel where we will leave for the archeological site of Plevrona (Duration 30 ')

09:00 - Guided tour of the archeological site of Plevrona. (Duration 1 hour and 30 ')

10:45 - Departure for the archeological site of Kalydona. (Duration 20 ')

11:15 - Guided tour of the archeological site of Kalydona. (Duration 1 hour and 30 ')

12:45 - Departure for the Botanical Garden "Zelios GI" (Duration 30 ')

13:15 - Guided tour of the Botanical Garden "Zelios GI" - (Duration 1 hour and 15 ')

14.30 - Traditional gastronomic event with local products, local recipes and wines from the Aetolian Land (Duration 2 hours)

16.30 - Return to the hotel for rest and free program (Duration 30 ')

1st PART

09:00 - Arrival in the Garden of Heroes, in the area where the camp and the cemetery of the besieged were located. Today is the only regional sculpture gallery in Greece, the only historical park regarding the Greek Revolution. (Duration 1 hour and 30 ')

10:30 - Departure from the Garden of Heroes and a short stop at “ntapia” of Franklin or "Terribile". (Duration 15 ')

10:45 - We walk next to the fortification and crossing the city center we reach the Museum of History & Art of the Municipality of the Sacred City of Messolonghi, the Municipal Gallery. (Duration 30 ')

11:15 - Presentation and interpretation of works related to the sieges and the Exodus. Also, we admire weapons, rare versions and useful objects of that time. (Duration 1 hour and 30 ')

12:45 - Departure for the speech and art center "DIEXODOS". (Duration 10 ') 

12:55 - We visit one of the few houses that survived the destruction of Messolonghi. Τhe house where Athanasios Razikotsikas, the elected military commander of the "local chariots", was born, lived and was killed at the Exodus. (Duration 45 ')

13:40 - Lunch on the cobbled streets of the city. (Duration 1 hour and 30 ') 

15:15 - Departure for the hotel. Free time.

2nd PART

Messolonghi Aetoliko Lagoon

09:30 – Arrival at the site where the neighboring museums of the Palamas and Trikoupis houses are located.

We start with our visit to the Trikoupis Family Museum where on the ground floor we are informed about the life and work of the most charismatic politician of the 19th century, Charilaos Trikoupis, while on the first floor we see how an urban house of Messolonghi of that time was designed. (Duration 1 hour and 30 ')

11:00 - We visit the Museum of the Palamas House. We are informed about the educational work of the family during the pre-revolutionary era, about Kostis Palamas who wrote, among other things, the Anthem of the Olympic Games and shaped Greek literature as well as the intellectual movement of Messolonghi. (Duration 45 ')

11:45 - We head to the building of the Byronic Society of the Sacred City of Messolonghi.

12:00 - We arrive at the “Center for Research and Study of Lord Byron and Philhellenism”, where we are informed about his life and work, as well as about the actions of the Society. (Duration 1 hour)

13:15 - Lunch on the cobbled streets of the city. (Duration 1 hour and 30 ')

14:45 - Free time

08:30 – Departure for the island of Kleisova in the Lagoon. (Duration 10 ').

Guided tour of the history of the siege and the historic battle of Kleisova. Reference to the Holy Trinity and the certified Thermal mud baths. (Duration 30 ').

09:15 - Departure for the picturesque Tourlida and upon our arrival we board to traditional yachts (Gaites), (Duration 5 ').

09:20 - Crossing “Messolonghi Aetolian” Lagoon, an area protected by the Ramsar Treaty, and around the traditional fish farms (divaria or ivaria) of fishermen. (Duration 30 ')

09:50 - Visit the island of Ai Sostis. Guided tour of the Historical and economic significance of the island as the oldest port of Messolonghi and guided tour of the environmental significance of “Messolonghi Aetolian” Lagoon, an area protected by the Ramsar Treaty & Nature 2000. (Duration 1 hour).

10:50 - Visit a natural fish farm in the lagoon. Guided tour of the Historical and economic significance of divari (or ivari) and the art of fishing (Duration 1 hour).

12:10 - Return to the picturesque Tourlida. (Duration 25 ').

12:40 - Visit the Salt Museum (Duration 1 hour).

13:50 - Gastronomic Traditional event with local products, local recipes and products from the lagoon in the picturesque port of Tourlida by the sea (Duration 1 hour 30 minutes).

2nd PART

“Messolonghi-Aetoliko” lagoon 

08:30 – Departure for Alykes Messolonghi. (Duration 10 ').

08:40 - Guided tour of White Saline and we take photos in the Salt Hills (Duration 30 ').

09:20 - Departure for Aetoliko the "Little Venice" of Greece. (Duration 15 '). 

09:40 - Guided tour of Vassos Katraki Engraving Art Museum, awarded with four (4) first international awards. (Duration 1 hour).

10:50 - Guided tour of Aetoliko Nautical Art Museum (Duration 1 hour).

11:50 - Guided tour of Aetoliko Folklore Museum (Duration 40 ').

12:40 - Walk and admiring the traditional cobbled streets of the island, the architecture of the houses of 18th century and the churches that hide treasures of inestimable historical value (Duration 35 ').

13:15 - Gastronomic stop for lunch with authentic flavors, in the heart of Aetoliko in the tavern "Monomatos".
